Paris Child Health from Civica has been designed for deployment in either a centralised paper-based organisation where PCT staff generate schedules, appointments and DARs or as a distributed system with direct access for Health Visitors, GPs and other practitioners who can enquire on or enter their own information.
Functionality includes:
- Births
- Newborn Screening
- Consent
- Immunisations
- Surveillance/Screening
- Special Needs
- School programmes
A flexible scheduling tool enables the auto-generation of appointments into GP practice sessions for either immunisations or preschool surveillance examinations. The standard UK immunisation schedule is provided as part of the product. On registration, a comprehensive schedule of the child’s future planned immunisations is generated, showing the due date and location for each dose. This is maintained automatically by the application as new information (results, suspensions etc) is received, giving an online, real-time view of the child’s vaccination history and plan. Immunisations are controlled by a comprehensive configuration tool that allows simple or complex scheduling algorithms. This will schedule antigens differently according to a child's prior history.
Benefits include:
- Real-time view of the child’s vaccination and screening history and future planned events
- Accurate reporting of vaccination and immunisation uptake within the community
- Newly-introduced antigens and catch-up programmes that can be easily configured by the Trust
- Comprehensive electronic care record that encompasses all of the clinical documentation and interventions pertaining to the child that can include both health and social care information
- If the child has special needs, is on placement or on the child protection register, this information is within the same care record and therefore visible to those staff whose role allows them access
