Role Purpose: E-Learning Co-coordinator/Trainer to play a pivotal role in the delivery of a unique collaborative learning environment in the Essex area and support the roll out learning environments across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
The principal role is to deliver appropriate training and support to establish the E-Learning platform and will involve basic functionality training including use of e-mail as well as delivering a programme for developing enhanced teaching and learning and administration, including school specific projects to address a specific priority for an individual school; shared projects for 1 or more schools with a common challenge or priority (i.e. generating shared digital resources across a number of schools) and strategic projects across all schools (e.g. embedding learning to learn skills, creating exemplar content, adapting and using E Learning planning tools and schemes of work to support staff in incorporating these objectives in their lessons and resources with the aim of developing autonomous learners
- Work with teachers and learner support staff in schools to encourage the uptake of the E-learning platform;
- Develop training programmes;
- Facilitate curriculum subject-based collaboration and the sharing of good practice by, for example, establishing and contributing to email discussion lists, running local/regional subject-based workshops;
- Assist subject tutors in the evaluation of good e-learning materials;
- Be proactive in exploring new developments, issues or opportunities and communicate these across the community
- Encourage subject teachers to contribute content to relevant sites;
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the role of ILT in teaching and learning, and the associated teaching and learning methodologies;
- Confidently and enthusiastically use IT and ILT.(Word processing, e-mail, using the Internet and Web browsers, graphics and presentation)
- Inspire and enthuse others about ILT.
Skills Required:
- Candidates will need to have a sound understanding of training methodology with a strong appreciation for and enthusiasm of how ICT can improve teaching and learning.
