Civica consolidates position as leading supplier to Local Government...
Civica continues to gain market share and establish itself as preferred supplier of software and services to Local Government in Australia and New Zealand with a 50 per cent increase in customer base in the past 12 months.  Growth has accelerated during that time with the successful acquisition of the Fujitsu Australia & New Zealand local government business in March and a spate of new contract wins.

Civica’s General Manager, Local Government, Colin Lillywhite, said: “Over the past twelve months we have seen more than 50 per cent growth in our local government customer base and we are confident of more positive outcomes in the year ahead.  Already we are seeing a number of our new Fujitsu customers choosing to move to our Authority application, including Oberon in NSW and Stratford in New Zealand.”

He added: “Civica has built its reputation and market position in the local government market on an excellent implementation record and a very strong commitment to the on-going product development of the Authority solution.

“Our current success and growth is further evidence that the market has a high level of confidence in Civica’s ability to provide a secure, long-term solution that delivers excellent value to Council. Growth is occurring across broad geographic segments including NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and New Zealand and in both metropolitan and rural areas.”

In Queensland, Civica successfully completed implementations at Bundaberg Regional Council, Cairns Regional Council and Gympie Regional Council earlier this year. Bundaberg, Burnett and Cooloola Councils were existing Civica customers and Authority was chosen by both of the newly amalgamated Councils as their core business system. Dalby Regional Council also recently completed an evaluation process of its local government systems and has chosen to implement Authority and will go live later this year.

In Victoria and Tasmania, the company has seen unprecedented customer growth in the past two years.  Seven Tasmanian Councils have selected the company’s Authority local government management solution since first Tasmanian customer Burnie Council came on board in mid-2006. Most recently the company has been awarded contracts at both Dorset and King Island Council and further growth is expected this year.

Recent success in the Victorian marketplace, at Mildura, Northern Grampians and Yarriambiack Councils, has seen the company further consolidate its stronghold in the local government market.

Civica recently opened new offices in New Zealand and has established a dedicated sales and operations team at its premises in Auckland. Stratford District Council has begun implementing Authority and plans to go live later this year.
